Joanne L. Brown is a paralegal in Huck Bouma’s estate and trust administration group. Her practice includes administration of probate as well as non-probate estates, preparation of estate and inheritance tax returns required for larger estates, preparation of individual and fiduciary income tax returns, preparation of inventories and accountings, and assisting clients with the collection of assets and the ongoing administration of trusts.
Joanne began her career at Chicago Title and Trust Company and worked in the trust tax department as a tax paralegal for 5 years. She then began an 18-year career with the Chicago law firm of Hopkins & Sutter, where she focused on estate and trust administration. Joanne then joined Huck Bouma in 2001 in an effort to work closer to home, and her primary focus continues to be estate and trust administration.
Joanne attended DePaul University and received a bachelor’s degree in Sociology. It was during her education at DePaul that she learned of the paralegal profession, and immediately upon graduation enrolled in the paralegal program at Roosevelt University, where she received her ABA approved certificate in Wills and Trusts. Joanne is a member of the Illinois Paralegal Association.
Joanne lives in the western suburbs with her family. In her free time, Joanne enjoys reading, bicycling and baking.
