Associate Attorney
Estate Planning Practice Group

Don’t Bother Reading this Ad Unless Your Dream is to become a Partner!

We are seeking an Associate Attorney in our Estate Planning practice
who dreams of being a partner, and who has the energy, desire, work ethic, and focus to get there within a 3 to 5-year period.

Why should you leave your current role in a comparable practice to come to Huck Bouma?

You might ask yourself:
Do I feel appreciated in my current role?

Is there a focus at my existing firm to prepare me to become a partner?

Is the advancement process an intentional, specific plan rather than a subjective plan with a lot of “maybes?”

Is my work environment compatible with my personal values and elements of what I consider to be a thriving, successful, engaging and happy culture?

Do the current partners show sensitivity and a regard for my own personal life and family?

Do I have the freedom to occasionally take in a concert, attend my child’s ballet practice or t-ball game, or perhaps just spend time with my family by getting home before everyone goes to bed?
Here’s what some of our current associates have said about why they left their previous law firms and joined Huck Bouma:

“Having recently completed my LLM in Taxation, I was looking for a firm where I felt I could both gain knowledge and experience as well as contribute to its overall success.  As I continued to grow as an attorney and hone my skills in estate planning, I have found Huck Bouma to provide me with the work- life balance of a suburban firm while exposing me to projects and clients similar to a downtown firm.”

“I came to Huck Bouma for two main reasons.  First, I saw an opportunity to develop my legal skills.  I learned that Huck Bouma's client base is diverse and expansive, which has exposed me to a variety of legal issues and areas of corporate law.  I noticed that substantial responsibility - through roles that are normally reserved for more senior associates in larger firms - was available as soon as I was able to take it on.  Second, since I live in the suburbs, I found it appealing to not have to travel into the city for work.  Travelling creates a great deal of dead time, and I have been able to convert that dead time into additional opportunities for professional development”.
As a midsized firm, we are able to offer our attorneys more variety in their assignments.  While many here are experts in certain areas of law, everyone here has developed a well-rounded understanding of many of the legal issues our clients face.

We are looking for top-notch, outstanding, high-performing associate attorneys.

An ideal candidate will have experience working on sophisticated estate planning and estate administration,
as well as with providing general business advice.
