Thomas A. Christensen is a Director with the firm and represents clients in commercial litigation matters. Tom has obtained successful results in cases involving breach of contract and the Uniform Commercial Code, disputes among shareholders of closely held businesses, construction disputes, trademark infringement, fraud, unfair competition, non-competition agreements, probate and trust disputes and commercial mortgage foreclosures.  Tom also represents creditors in bankruptcy cases, and handles matters such as avoidance claims and preference actions.  Tom is a member of the Illinois Bar, the Trial Bar of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and is also admitted to practice in federal courts in Michigan and Wisconsin.

Tom has tried countless cases to final judgment and through the appeals process as lead counsel in state and federal courts, and many of his cases have resulted in published judicial opinions.  Tom combines a results-oriented, practical approach with aggressive and zealous representation to obtain the best outcome for clients in an efficient and expeditious manner.

Tom authored a chapter and spoke on the topic of “Mechanic’s Lien Enforcement: Deadlines, Lien Priorities, Procedures and Litigation Deadlines”, presented by the National Business Institute; and co-authored and presented a chapter regarding “Ethical Issues Relating to Mechanic’s Lien Enforcement.”

Tom received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Elmhurst College and his law degree from Valparaiso University School of Law.

Tom lives in Wheaton with his wife and their two daughters.  Tom is active in the legal community, as a member of the DuPage County and Illinois State Bar Associations, and as an officer of the Robert E. Jones American Inn of Court. Tom is also active in his local community through church and other community activities, and volunteers as an evaluator in IHSA mock trial competitions.
