National Caregivers Day

On Behalf of | Feb 17, 2023 | Firm News

National Caregivers Day is Friday, February 17, and the National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC) is urging everyone in home health, home care, and hospice to use the occasion to draw attention to the selfless work caregivers do all over the country.

On National Caregivers Day we honor those who give endlessly of their own time and energy to help our loved ones live better lives. It especially applies to those caregivers who help our elderly friends, family, and neighbors who require long-term care in home care, home health, and hospice.

The third Friday of February is the perfect time to show your appreciation to professional caregivers who assist America’s most vulnerable citizens and also show some appreciation for the unpaid caregivers you know are making a big difference in the lives of others.

We should all show more appreciation for the caregivers among us every day, but on National Caregivers Day we must all make a special point of doing so. Words of gratitude and even a small gift would, we are certain, be greatly appreciated by the many over-worked caregivers providing care and comfort to the neediest among us.

Hilarity for Charity (HFC) 3rd annual CareCon will take place February 17, 2023 on National Caregivers Day!
CareCon is a free, virtual event designed to educate, inspire, and empower Alzheimer’s and dementia family caregivers with support, knowledge, and community. Hosted by HFC Co-Founder Lauren Miller Rogen, CareCon brings together a mix of celebrity advocates and industry experts. https://www.wearehfc.org/events/carecon-2023

A small gift to the caregiver(s) in your life would be a wonderful idea on February 17. Some suggestions are:

• Books (if the caregiver is a voracious reader)
• Gift cards to her or his favorite store
• Baked goods
• Hand lotions/cream
• Aromatherapy candles/diffuser
• Donation to a worthy cause in the name of the caregiver

And if you cannot give a gift, a simple note, letter, or email of appreciation would be, well, appreciated, we are quite certain.
