    David Zajicek is a highly experienced attorney whose practice includes corporate and real estate transactions, as well as related lítigation. He represents companíes in sales of businesses; mergers and acquísitions; leveraged buyouts; executive compensation matters; employment law; shareholder disputes, and business succession planning.

    As part of his corporate practice, Mr. Zajicek represents major lending institutions as well as borrowers ín all types of private and public financíng arrangements, including aircraft financing, federal and state New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) financing and Tax Incremental (TIF) financing, and workout negotiation and litigation.

    Mr. Zajícek’s real estate practice includes the representation of developers from acquisition through construction, sale and leasing. He also has extensive experience in zoning and land use matters before more than 30 local communities in the Chicagoland area and in state courts regarding annexation, zoning, special use permits, wetlands permits, impact fees, storm water management disputes and building permit disputes.

    On the trial side of his practíce, Mr. Zajicek has tried cases in both state and federal courts, regarding commercial matters, ìncluding shareholder disputes, manufacturer/distributor (and franchisor/franchisee) disputes, as well as real estate matters of all types.

    Mr. Zajicek has written and lectured to professional groups on the topic of the Federal New Markets Tax Credit Program, which was enacted as part of the Federal Community Renewal Tax Relief Act of 2000.

    Mr. Zajicek has also been a guest lecturer on zoning and land use law conferences sponsored by the lnternational Conference
    of Shopping Centers, and has taught real estate courses at
    Roosevelt University in Chicago.

    is the recipient of the Air Force Commendation Medal.

    Robert L. Renfro, a Director with the Firm, concentrates his practice in both the commercial and residential real estate market. As Chair of the Huck Bouma Real Estate Practice Group, he has extensive experience in purchase and sale transactions as well as office, retail and industrial leasing.
    Rob has represented clients in a wide variety of real estate matters, whether it involves assisting a client in securing a “mom and pop” retail lease in downtown Glen Ellyn or negotiating office lease in the Willis Tower. Rob has also advised condominium boards in association matters and has assisted property owners in matters of finance and title.

    Along with his real estate practice, Rob handles much of the firm’s guardianship matters and advises staff on probate issues. He routinely appears in court to represent executors and administrators of probate estates and is often called upon to represent local medical facilities to secure guardians for indigent patients.

    Rob is a graduate of Lake Forest College, having transferred there following his freshman year at Iowa State University. He received his law degree at John Marshall Law School in Chicago.

    Rob has served as a Village of Glen Ellyn Trustee, President of the Glen Ellyn Chamber of Commerce, and Chair of the Glen Ellyn Architectural Review Commission. Rob is also a member of the Kiwanis Club of Central DuPage. He and his wife Viki, and daughter Rachel, continue to reside in Glen Ellyn.

    Timothy W. O’Donnell, a Director with the Firm, counsels corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies and individual clients on a wide range of business and related tax matters. He has extensive experience in taxable and nontaxable business acquisitions and restructurings, succession planning, capital-raising activities, business structuring and joint venture agreements.
    Mr. O’Donnell also has significant experience involving the financing ownership and disposition of business related aircraft, including tax-deferred exchanges and sales and use tax issues.

    A frequent lecturer, Mr. O’Donnell speaks on a broad range of topics, including tax-related aspects of mergers and acquisitions and S corporation operations. He is the co-author of ”Operating and Maintaining the S Corporation”, a chapter of an Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education publication on S corporations.

    Kimberly A. Nagle, a senior Director with the Firm, concentrates her practice in commercial business and finance transactions for small and mid-sized businesses.     Christian T. Laden is a Director at Huck Bouma, PC and represents clients on a wide range of real estate, corporate and tax matters, focusing his practice in the areas of commercial real estate (including but not limited to acquisition, disposition, leasing, refinancing, development, and construction), real estate finance, business/corporate transactions, residential real estate, and estate and legacy planning.

    Christian has significant experience working with and routinely acts as outside general counsel and advisor for small and mid-size businesses, commercial real estate companies, including overseeing legal, corporate and finance matters with regard to their commercial real estate holdings, construction and property management activities as well as numerous local and national asset-based private lenders, real estate investors, and mortgage pool funds.

    Prior to joining Huck Bouma, Christian worked for law firms in the west and northwest suburbs of Chicago, including his own firm from 2009-2016 while also acting as in-house general counsel for a Chicagoland area real estate developer, landlord and construction company. From his first-hand experience as a business owner and in-house counsel, Christian greatly appreciates and understands the unique legal and business issues that small and mid-size business and real estate clients confront on a daily basis, and the tremendous value of having well-structured transactions and creating business practical solutions for all parties involved.

    Christian received his law degree from DePaul University College of Law and also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Mathematics (concentration Actuarial Science), Summa Cum Laude, from Niagara University. While attending Niagara University, Christian was a member of the Division I Men’s Ice Hockey Team.

    Christian resides in the western suburbs with his wife and their three children. Christian enjoys traveling and spending time with his family and playing men’s league hockey. Christian is an active member in his church and bible study group, and particularly enjoys being a volunteer attorney at his church’s monthly pro-bono legal clinic (in conjunction with Administer Justice) as well as being a case maker for the Christian-faith.
