Bomie K. Leonard is a Director in the Trusts and Estates practice group, focusing her practice on wealth transfer and estate planning, federal estate, gift, and generation-skipping tax planning, estate and trust administration, and business planning. She counsels individuals and families on a variety of matters, including asset protection, legacy planning, family office structuring, and succession planning.
Bomie has significant experience in the minimization of estate and gift taxes, sophisticated estate planning techniques, the creation and operation of family limited liability companies, planning for closely-held businesses, and charitable giving. From structuring estate plans to family businesses, Bomie works closely with her clients and their advisors to design, implement, and maintain customized structures for her clients that are tailored to clients’ goals.
Prior to joining Huck Bouma, Bomie worked at a Chicago law firm representing medium- to high-net-worth individuals and families in sophisticated estate, business succession, and family office planning.
In her spare time, Bomie is a volunteer attorney at Prairie State Legal Services. She enjoys playing paddle, practicing yoga, entertaining, and spending time with her family and friends.
