Commercial Real Estate Attorney
Real Estate Practice Group

DuPage County largest law firm is looking to seeking to hire a commercial real estate attorney with 5+ years of broad commercial real estate experience, including acquisitions and dispositions, leasing, zoning/entitlements, construction, and loan documentation.

The candidate must be articulate, personable, and a strong negotiator. The firm offers a congenial and collaborative work environment, and a terrific opportunity to gain sophisticated hands-on experience in a thriving transactional practice.

Duties would include, but not be limited to:
Draft and negotiate real estate contracts and leases for all real estate asset classes

This is an ideal position for a candidate who wants to develop a sophisticated practice within a collegial environment.

Job Description
• Ability to immediately manage a base of franchise clients independently and responsibly in collaboration with the team.
• Strictly transactional and regulatory work.
• Franchisor representation includes franchise disclosure and registrations, drafting Franchise Agreements and related documents; franchise relationship issues: renewals, transfers, defaults and terminations; franchise law compliance (client counseling, training programs); response to government inquiries.
• Franchisee representation includes review of Franchise Disclosure Document and Franchise Agreement, counsel re same and negotiation of agreements for prospective franchisees, and franchise agreement renewals, transfers of franchise businesses and relationship issues with franchisor for existing franchisees.

Candidates should also possess a strong work ethic and have a desire for autonomy and significant client/matter responsibility.
Candidates must have excellent drafting and negotiation skills, a superior academic background and a desire to have significant client interaction. Candidates must be committed to extraordinary client service.

Qualifications
• Must be admitted to practice in State of Illinois
• Must have franchise law experience
• Experience representing franchisors required
• Experience representing franchisees preferred
• Other transactional business law experience a plus

Trust and Estate Practice Group

We are currently searching for highly motivated, team-orientated candidate interested in joining the largest DuPage County law firm as a Trust and Estate Paralegal. Tax background will be required for this role. The successful candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, possess excellent writing and numeric skills, maintain strict confidentiality, and display a passion for delivering outstanding results and service on a consistent basis.

Essential Duties and Performance Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the following essential promptly and accurately. Other duties may be assigned.

Specific tasks include:

  • Reviewing client estate planning documents for post-death administration of estates and trusts
  • Preparing trust and will summaries, inventories, accountings and spreadsheets
  • Preparing federal and state estate tax returns, gift tax returns and fiduciary income tax returns
  • Preparing client memos and correspondence
  • Funding marital and family trusts

Acquired Skills and Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 5+ years of recent public accounting tax experience encompassing progressive scope and responsibilities
  • Tax Background or on track to obtain CPA
  • Experience preparing IRS forms 706, 709, 1040, 1120, 1120S, 1065 and 1041
  • Skillful attention to detail with strong communication, organizational, analytical, project management, client service and PC skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
